“Sports Challenge”, or SpoCha for short, is an activity center glowing with life in the center of the manmade island of Odaiba in Tokyo. 3 floors of games and sports activities is too much to experience in only one day, but we gave it our best. It’s one of the largest sporting and gaming arcades in Japan, with anything from MarioKart to rifle shooting, baseball to bull riding. There is even a huge sports complex on the roof, which is beautiful to experience on a sunny day. The second floor is not limited to just games either with its multiple karaoke rooms and billiard centers. There was even a heated basketball match between some of our American interns. Spo-Cha is sure to be a fan-favorite for people of all ages!
The surrounding area has the famous Gundam Statue and various novelty stores overlooking the Rainbow Bridge of Tokyo. There are many huge malls like DiverCity, where we visited the many different shops, tried on summer Yukatas, and tasted the Matcha-flavored icecream! We didn’t have to look far for food with the foodcourts housing restaurants from many parts of the world, as well as the standalone favorites such as TGIF & Kua Aina. Not to mention the amazing night view of the Rainbow Bridge and the many party boats that glow along the ocean below in a nonchalant manner while enjoying delicious drinks and dinner. A perfect night to end a perfect day.
